From the Heart: My Journey Into the Beauty Business

Some of my favorite gifts have always been those from the heart—the ones that were handmade, where someone put a lot of thought into why they created that gift for me. Whether it’s a scrapbook, a photo book, or handmade art, personalized gifts feel like a warm hug. That’s exactly the feeling I want to bring into the beauty business. My goal is to create products that give you the gift of time with yourself, allowing you to care for and nurture your body while affirming your personal act of self-love. Pouring love into yourself should feel like a little luxury, a mini-vacation—bougie and relaxing at the same time.

The beauty industry today is saturated with countless products, many of which are made in bulk and lack a personal touch. With an overwhelming amount of choices, it’s easy to get lost in the hype of marketing. But what makes me different? I didn’t grow up with a lot of money, so I learned early on how to create beauty products using what I already had. I focused on multi-use, recyclable ingredients that served both my skin and the environment. This practice not only taught me resourcefulness but also inspired the launch of my first product in the Glow series: an all-natural, organic face oil.

This face oil is made with a blend of jojoba, rosehip, vitamin E, argan, lavender, and geranium oils, and each batch is created at home with positive intentions and prayers infused into every bottle. I first started gifting it to my friends—those who are usually the givers but don’t often receive gifts themselves. I wanted them to know I see them, and I hoped this gift would encourage them to take time for self-care. It became more than just face oil; it was a hug in a bottle, a daily reminder that someone had thought of them. Soon, friends started asking for more, willing to pay for their next bottle. And that’s how my small, quarterly batches were born.

Now it’s time to take the next step. Expanding this business feels like a natural evolution, but it will grow at exactly the size it needs to. People often ask me, "How do you look so youthful?" I can proudly say that I’ve never had Botox or fillers (at the time of this post), but I have been using this face oil every night for the past three years. It has allowed me to glow from within, radiating light and rejuvenation in a way that feels both luxurious and attainable.

In a world full of mass-produced beauty products, I want mine to stand out by offering something personal—products that not only help you look good but also feel like you’re giving yourself a gift each time you use them.
